In 1885, [?O. S.?] Weaver of [?Erath?] County conveyed to J. A. Sherrill of [?Hamilton?] County the west half of Block No. Seven of the subdivision of the Wm. M. Smith Survey in [?Erath?] County, Texas, for Five Hundred [?$500?] Dollars, of which $200 was cash and the balance was the assumption of a $600 bond.

In 1896, [?Jos. M. Stephen?] of [?Erath?] County conveyed to M. M. Grantham of [?Hill?] County a 155-acre tract, part of the [?Sion Blythe?] Survey in [?Erath?] County, Texas, for Nine Hundred and thirty [?$930?] Dollars, of which $310 was cash and the balance was two $310 promissory notes.

The State of Texas. County of [?Erath?]. Know all Men by these Presents: That [?O. S.?] Weaver of the County of [?Erath?] and State aforesaid, for and in consideration of the sum of Five Hundred Dollars, to be paid and secured to be paid by J. A. Sherrill as follows: $200 cash in hand paid the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged and the assumption and agreement to pay off and discharge one half the amount of a certain bond No. [?18929?] of $600, dated Oct. 2nd 1883, due and payable Oct. 1, 1888, with 8% per annum, interest payable semi annually, and is described by Deed of Trust which is duly recorded in Book [?I?], Pages 146 to 150, records of Trust Deeds, Mortgages &c. of Erath Co. Texas, have GRANTED, SOLD and CONVEYED, and by these presents do GRANT, SELL and CONVEY, unto the said J. A. Sherrill of the County of [?Hamilton?] and State of Texas, all that certain lot, tract or parcel of land described as follows: in Erath county, Tex. Being the west half of Block No. Seven of the subdivision of the Wm. M. Smith Survey and is more fully described as follows: Beginning at the S.E. corner of a tract of land formerly owned by [?A. J. O'Neal?], the same being the S.W. corner of the above mentioned Block. Thence N. 30° W. 741 varas to said O'Neals N.E. corner for N.W. corner of this. Thence N. 60° E. 375 [?4/10?] varas to N.E. corner. Thence S. 30° E. 741 varas to S.E. corner. Thence S. 60° W. 375 [?4/10?] varas to the place of beginning containing ___ acres more or less. To Have and to Hold, the above described premises... unto the said J. A. Sherrill and his heirs and assigns forever. And we do hereby bind ourselves our heirs, executors and administrators, to WARRANT AND FOREVER DEFEND, all and singular, the said premises unto the said J. A. Kite?] Subdivision of said [?Sion Blythe?] for S.W. cor. of this. Thence N. 19° E. 95 [?7/12?] vrs. the N.W. cor. of this. Thence S. 71° E. 90 [?3/4?] vrs. to the N.W. corner of a 99 acre tract recently sold by me to [?J. K. Grantham?] for the N.E. cor. of this. Thence S. 19° W. with [?J. K.
